Membership status approved
So, this afternoon, we all took off to go meet up with our new friend, Benny, at Honda. We had met him yesterday afternoon, and made plans to come back and visit him again today…..to seal a deal….and officially become card carrying members of the “Minivan Club”.
Yup, that’s right……we are the proud new owners of a 2011 Honda Odyssey Minivan. I’ve never been someone who said “never” to these, and I’m glad that I wasn’t, because this ride is pretty cool. I’ve had 2 Honda Pilots before, and loved them both, so I was familiar with the manufacturer already.
So, meet our new baby’s toy. Yes, this purchase was totally made for Burke….and our future children. I think I am most excited about the side door and that it opens up for me with a push of a button. We decided on black….well, it turns out that these things are hard to come by these days, so we didn’t really have a choice….but it matches it’s brother, The Beast. Now we just need to come up with a name for her. Stay tuned on that.
Oh my gosh…I’m one of those moms!! Watch out world!

When we were sitting in the front seat, Burke got so excited that he totally passed out. I think he likes it.
It was SO much easier to get him in the van…..that I am going to LOVE!! We now have seats for 8….or room for 3 of Burke’s closest friends AND their mommies. I’m seeing a Mommy road trip in our future…..maybe to Target or Joann’s. :) (I am already jones-ing to make another quilt and want to check out their fabric).
My parents were waiting for us as I pulled the new ride into the driveway.
Although it’ll be sad to say goodbye to the Nissan, we’re pretty excited about the new addition. Now to just figure out what my personalized license plate will be….
Awesome van! So funny, because my Odyssey just went to the scrap heap in the sky, and we ended up downsizing to a black Ford Fusion sedan. It’s weird that now that my kids are bigger, I get a SMALLER vehicle! Enjoy your ride!

You’ll love the van! We belonged to the club as our kids were growing. We’re thinking of joining the club again so that we have room to seat our growing family – grandkids and their folks!
no. way. i am definitely in the NEVER category when it comes to minvans and i can’t believe you got one!!! i’ve heard they are creme de la creme of minivans though, so nice job on the purchase!! maybe you’ll come road trip to visit us in the new wheels?!
